We request the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 12th International Symposium SYMKOM 2016 IMP2
Organized in Gdansk – the Polish maritime capital, lying on the Bay of Gdansk (the southern cost of the Baltic Sea). With its Hanseatic tradition, Gdansk has for ages played a major role in the commercial relationships between Northern and Western Europe as well as the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Present-day Gdansk is the capital of the Pomeranian province and an important administration centre.
For the second time, the symposium is organized by two scientific centers: Szewalski Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdansk and Institute of Turbomachinery, Lodz University of Technology.
The Symposium follows the tradition of meetings of people who conduct scientific research and development activities in the field of turbomachinery: turbines, compressors, pumps, as well as modern power engineering technologies. The symposium programme includes plenary and poster sessions introduced by keynote speeches delivered by specialists represented the various fields of turbomachines – both scientists and practitions. A special session will be devoted to PhD students with a competition for the best presentation delivered by a young researcher. Moreover, an exchange of ideas among users, manufacturers and researchers involved in turbomachinery will be possible within a separate panel session.
The symposium papers will be published in two scientific journals: „Transactions of Institute of Fluid – Flow Machinery” and ”Open Engineering”.
For the symposium venue, we have chosen the Mercure Gdansk Strare Miasto Hotel situated in the Old City.
We look forward to seeing you in Gdansk.
On behalf of the Scientific Committee
